I lived here for almost two years and it's not horrible for the price. The water never gets very hot, so the dishwashers don't work to their full capacity and the showers suck, you can smell everything your neighbor cooks (mine were particularly fond of garlic and meats), there is an ant problem (even the main office has ants), pretty dirty carpets, bad, overpriced cable tv, and internet speeds somewhere between dial-up and DSL (recently added), horrible laundry facilities, but there are nice nearby laundromats. If you can live with all that, you get a fairly nice-sized one bedroom apartment for around 400 with a nice balcony, parking is never hard to find, maintenance was always fast and friendly (ex: they replaced a broken refrigerator at 1 in the morning the only time I had to deal with them), I never encountered crime, my car was never broken into (I've seen some that had been, though rarely), I felt relatively safe there, good neighbors. If you're looking for something cheap and easy to get into and don't mind giving up a couple things for the price, you could do much worse. They jacked up the price quite a bit when I had to go month-to-month however. On second thought, in Rockford you could also do a WHOLE lot better for around the $400-500 range if you just look around a bit, there are some nice places closer to downtown by the river for comparable prices. It is easy to get on bypass 20 and I-90. Keep in mind that this review refers to building 10. This is a huge complex with a diverse group of people and experiences as evidenced by the reviews here. Barely recommend.
