Awesome - if you want true Community!

Where to start...

I've rented for the 9 years, homes, duplexes, apartments, townhomes... With family, and before I had kids. HighPoint was a true highlight in my renting experiences!

I'm assuming anyone reading this has read the other reviews before mine, so let me address a couple of things. Like *ALL* apartments, if you have bad credit, you pay a higher deposit. Sometimes slightly higher, sometimes a lot higher. What you pay will depend on what problems you've had in the past with credit. Anyone with a reasonable credit history will have a smaller deposit than someone with lots of credit problems. Secondly, what you pay when you move in is partially up to you. At any apartment, ask about not only *current* specials, but also *upcoming* ones. You can and !should! wheel and deal! If you know someone already living somewhere, ask what they pay and mention that price when you talk to leasing. Again, this is for any apartment, not just highpoint.

Next up, I'm going to say that you get a *lot* for what you pay at Highpoint. The amenities are great - and if you are a resident they are free. How many other communities have a free indoor basketball court'

And finally, a tip. As much as I love Highpoint, it isn't for everybody. If you are a person who doesn't want friends, or friendly neighbors, don't move here. The whole idea behind HighPoint is "where friends become neighbors and neighbors become friends." As corny as it might sound, they live by it using the Insitute for Community to help them achieve it. http://www.instituteforcommunity.org .

If you're looking for a clean, friendly, caring place to live - with renters who stay longer than a couple of months, HighPoint is a great bet. You can choose how involved you get by adding volunteerism to your stay if you like. That's what I did, and still do, even though I moved away from HighPoint in 1999. I still visit, and I still do volunteer work via computer from Delaware. :)

I hope this helped someone, feel free to e-mail me if you have additional comments.
