Section 8 has now become the leading reason for a spike in the crime rate in Romeoville. High point has accepted Section 8 and due to this high point has become a hot bed of criminal and gang activity so much so that it is affecting the surrounding communities. As resident of a subdivision next to High Point I strongly recommend that no one rent there with any hopes of living in a nice enviroment. To all residents of Romeoville, Please stop Highpoint from accepting section 8. This is turning our town into a Ghettoe!

HighPoint Community accepts all residents who meet the rental criteria to live here. Just because someone receives assistance does not mean that they don't meet the same criteria to live here. People who get assistance tend to take better care of there homes and surroundings. People of all backgrounds and nationalities have the potential to bring drugs and un wanted activity to any community. And for you to stereotype people just because they receive assistants unjust and unfair.

Well you probably work there or are on section 8 and we as residents of Romeoville intend to push for this program to cease in this town. so be ready. Everyone (including the police)knows that Highpoint has caused the crime rate to spike b/c of the people who have moved there due to section 8.

My wife and I just signed a 12 month lease and agree that there may be some problems that occur with in a rental community. I am also aware that the housing market today, has also created a lot of rentals with in a single family residential housing community. The odds are that you may have a number of families renting single family homes in your subdivision utilizing the section 8 vouchers as the individuals who choose to rent apartments also using Section 8 Vouchers is probably staggering to you. Please don't misunderstand me, I am not an advocate for condoning individuals for not following the basic rules of society. We need to use caution when we place blame on a group of individuals because they live in a place that you might consider to be on a lower standard than where you live. I could be wrong but it seems you are not current with what may be happening in your subdivision. Your neighbor that is renting or owning a house may have just been released from the state penitentiary or they could just be simply renting a home for their family. We should all call the police, report the crime, let everyone know their activities are being monitored. We can not get so short sighted that we forget to look at our own neighbors because it is guaranteed they are aware you are not watching them. How do I know this? You just mentioned that your attention is directed to the rental community. Thanks for keeping me safe.
