In the beging they have you sign a lease. Which states that if you break you lease, you must pay up to two months of rent, or until they rent the apartment. well my lease is over August 31,2005. And I gave a 30 day notice and I received a letter telling me that I will have to pay September's rent although my lease is over in August, because I needed to give them a 60 day notice, while I only had 30 more days in my lease. I lived in a unit that has 10 people living above me. It felt like horses were running threw the house most times. The water bill, is unreal. Unreal.
Then the stupid part is that you have to pick up your mail from the center, which closes a 9:00 pm so if you work in the evenign then forget about picking up your mail until the weekend & don't come before 1:00 PM because the mail lady will curse you out. It is a nice place to live, but if you don't know anyone in the area......good luck making friends. No one really speaks, and the children are the worst of the worst every friday there is a group of teenagers standing in the parking lot smoking weed, and drinking and they are loud and rude.
I just expected more for the amount of money I worked hard for and paid.

the state of IL by law only requires a 30 day notice, regardless of what the management says. FIGHT THAT!!

The buy out fee is pretty standard in the industry. I would fight them automatically extending your lease. READ through your lease to see what it says, not saying you didn't, but many people miss that.

Nothing has changed since this person lived in Highpoint. I just moved out in August 2007 and it was the same way.
