This apartment complex is the worst one out there! Do not, no matter how desperate you are, move to Highpoint. The BIGGEST problem we had with this place was the crime. Cars were robbed frequently and one was stolen from the parking lot. We heard from a neighbor that a woman was raped behind the building in the winter of 2006. There is often grafitti painted on the dumpster buildings. I wondered many times if there was some drug dealing going on in the parking lot. It was not well-lit at all. They just installed the lights while we were there and I believe this community is 10 years old. The lights never came on either...I'm not sure if they just weren't working yet or if they didn't bother to turn them on. Either way...it was very dark and I did not feel safe walking to my car or taking the trash out at night. But the worst of all was when my husband and I heard gunshots from the apartment below us! That was it for us. We left shortly after.
The rent is insanely high for the quality and atmosphere in this community. My husband and I paid about $1100 each month for a 2 bedroom in ok shape. Don't be fooled by the quality of their model apartments...see the actual apartment you're looking at renting if you absolutely must move here. The walls are very thin, you will hear your neighbors from all sides. The water bill (which is added on to your rental statement) is split between all the people in the building. I think of that as a bad thing because you can't control how much water your neighbors are using so you may get stuck paying for more than you used.
The management does not know what they are doing and they are impossibly hard to get ahold of unless you go to the office in person. They hardly ever pick up the phones. They will give you certain information one day and then it changes...they're terrible with packages also. The package is delivered to the office if you're not home and then someone from the office puts a slip in your cubby box below your mailbox. If you don't pick up your package in three days (from the delivery date) it gets sent back. We had a couple packages sent back because we didn't get the slip in our cubby until it had been three days. This happened 3 times to us and we checked our mailbox and cubby diligently. We also did not get our renewal notice in our cubby which, according to Highpoint management, is our own fault. Luckily we were not planning on renewing our lease.
There is no way I would reccommend this apartment complex to anyone, whether I know them or not. It is not a nice place, a safe place or even convenient. There's not much around so just don't even bother. It may look good in pictures but believe me and don't waste your time.

I agree with you management and the staff there are the worst, they wont help you with anything. They cant even keep track of the packages they, first they dont put a slip in your cubby then they are to lazy to look for it ony by one that they sometimes wont do it because you dont have the slip with package number or they dont see your name on the list. I had a packacge that didnt even belong to me and ont he label had a totally different address then mine.
