Since the new owners have taken the complex over, things have started going downhill pretty rapidly. These new owners are transforming Springhill from apartments to condos and selling them at exorbitant prices.
The cleanliness of the common indoor areas and the upkeep of the outdoor areas are less than desirable. For instance, since the new ownership, there has been vomit on common outdoor areas twice that has never been cleaned up. There was also a very pungent smell in the hallway that I recently reported. Before the new owners, that would have been taken care of in a day. This smell in the carpet took days to get taken care of. They reported to me that they had a carpet cleaning service coming out...yet, I've never heard of a carpet company using straight vinegar to clean carpets, just leave it there to produce another awful aroma to fill the hallway for days.
Parking is no longer monitored for those that should not be parking here. There are always strange characters lurking in our parking lot. There is a clause in our terms of living that states we are not to work on our cars in the parking lots. Yet, there are some people that have recently taken to setting out chairs to sit around the cars they are working on.
I understand that our snowfall this winter was extremely heavy at times and very hard to keep up with, but there were days when I would leave for work and have to trudge through a foot or more of snow to get through the lot to my car. Of course the lot around the lease/sales office was totally clear and even salted. Rarely were things salted around our building. This was not really an issue in the past.
We haven't had any maintenance issues since the ownership turnover, but I can say that any maintenance issues had been promptly taken care of in the past. I sure do hope that the 2 maintenance men were not let go of, like the old office staff. They were very competent and friendly. I felt very safe allowing them to fix things in my apartment when I was home alone.
It really is a shame that this turnover has come about. Honestly, this complex was great until recently. The new office staff is less than personable and very unorganized.

I agree with the fact that the maintenance of the property has gone down. My lease is up in September but I already feel pressured to give the new owners an answer regarding purchasing this apartment. First of all, I would never purchase because of the windows. I became ill this winter because of the mold on the steel window frames. Also the fact that these are single paned windows does not help the situation. When the mold occured I was told by the office staff that this was my responsibility. I don't think so. Don't get me started on the condition of the laundry room.
