Don't move here, the cockroaches already inhabit it.

To start out, I cannot wait until my lease is up and I am able to leave Chatham Hills. The demo apartment the complex allows you to see is not anything like the real thing. Also, DO NOT FALL FOR THE CRAIGSLIST ADS. Those are created by office workers who have nothing better to do but make "cute" little titles for all the posts.
There is a very minimal plus side to Chatham Hills, mainly they allow pets. Some places do not. That's the end of the positives about this apartment complex. And by the way, every pet is a $200 pet deposit and $10 per pet per month. Which for even just one pet can end up being an extra $320 for a 12 month lease. Add an additional pets and you are looking at $640 total.
The negatives to Chatham Hills are numerous. To begin with, I can hear everything (and I do mean everything!) that my upstairs neighbors do. This can often times be VERY unpleasant if you get my drift. At time I have been able to hear their entire telephone conversations. Additionally, I have had to call the cops on my upstairs neighbors running through the house so loud that it was actually shaking my ceiling.
The parking is okay, but my car has received numerous dings and scraps to the doors that were not there before coming to Chatham Hills. And I used to live on a college campus where I had no problem with people constantly getting in and out of cars parked next to mine without scratching it.
Another negative, one of my neighbors smokes in her apartment and when I wash my clothes in the washing machine, the clean clothes smell like smoke. I am not a smoker, so I do not like my clothes smelling as if I am. My other neighbors next to me smoke other stuff...
Maintenance here is horrible. I called them to fix the weak water-pressure in shower and they "fixed" it so that water now pours out of the bathtub faucet while I take a shower. This is a major waste of water. I have to pay for water. Talk about money down the drain..
But hey, if you still don't believe me, rent here and see for yourself. The cockroaches and mice that infest these buildings will be happy to eat any crumbs you may drop.

I'm just amazed everytime I read these negative posts. I'm sure you're very unhappy with everything! Have you ever written a positive view. I absolutely love my apartment and keep my apartment clean. I have never seen a bug or mouse.
I also have a pet and am happy to pay for him as most places don't allow dogs. Do you know of an apartment around here that doesn't charge? I honestly think the $10 is CHEAP!!!

Yeah I know a place that doesn't charge pet rent (Deerwood Lake Commons - Down off Toronto Rd), that is much nicer than Chatham Hills apartments. Cheaper too on rent with full washer and dryer on a fully stocked pond! Chatham School District and it's here in Springfield. $750 for a three bedroom (Water, Sewer, Trash all included in rent!!! Plus nice bonus - Reserved Covered parking spot!!) Pet deposit, but no pet rent!!! Oh and the pet deposit is 100% refundable when you move out , unlike at Chatham Hills where you don't get any of it back. I just moved from Chatham Hills this past weekend, and am soooo happy to be out!!!
