I moved here recently from Westwood Apartments in West Chicago, and this is a *huge* improvement. It's much cheaper than AMLI, and the landscaping is really nice.

Some of the pros: it's pretty quiet here; I never hear my neighbors unless I'm intentionally talking with them (and everyone's pretty friendly here). The rent is reasonable. Maintenance is very good about fixing things: I had a leak under my kitchen sink and Dale, the maintenance guy, figured out that a part was rusting, so he replaced the entire faucet and some of the piping the very next day--problem solved. He also fixed my toilet promptly. The lady downstairs from me told me that when she had an ant problem, it was eradicated the very next day as well. Overall, the general feeling here is one of friendliness, competence, consideration for others, a sense of safety and community, and natural beauty. The antithesis of where I was living before. Oh, and the pet fee is actually refundable.

Some minor cons (the pros outweigh these):
It's buggy here. You're right on the river and it's woodsy; the price you pay for the beautiful location. There are lots of ways to get around this. Management power washes once a month to get rid of spiderwebs in the entryways. Spraying insect repellent like Hot Shot Spider Spray works well. I haven't seen any big scary spiders in the apartment since I moved in, knock on wood.
No dishwasher or central air, but the rent reflects this, since you'll be paying over $100 less per month than at AMLI for the same amount of space (or more).
The water pressure (in the shower) leaves something to be desired, but it's not bad.

Overall, I'm really glad I decided to move here.
