When I sold my large suburban house after the death of my wife, Parkshore was the first apartment complex I wanted to move into and was the first I called. I have lived here twice before, earlier in my life, and knew from experience that it would suit my wants and needs perfectly. I was quite surprised to find that there was a vacancy that would coincide with the closing date on the house. I had a moment of panic when the buyer of my home had a week's delay in obtaining a mortgage, but the friendly and very helpful staff worked with me to arrange a move-in date that was possible for me. When I started moving my belongings, it felt like I was coming home.

The two bedroom, second floor, apartment was freshly painted, had new carpeting, a new kitchen floor, surprised me with a washer and dryer, and was in excellent condition. As I look out my living room window I see a flowering plum tree that makes me feel even more at home, as it is so like the one that was on my previous property. Parking is within 25 feet of the well-lit stairway, and in the seven months I have lived here, I have never been bothered by noise from neighbors. In fact, I can only think of three or four times that I have even heard any of them. In addition to the tree outside the window, the grounds are well landscaped and maintained and there is a magnificent view of the Fox River. Plentiful lighting outdoors, in the parking lot, and in the landing adds to the convenience and safety of the complex.

I believe that the complex was built in the late 1960's or very early 1970's and has been meticulously maintained and cared for. The units actually seem better now than when I first lived here when going to graduate school and starting my family. I must stress once again how helpful and friendly the staff have been. The Assistant Manager lives directly below me. When I was still quite upset and stressed after completing the sale and move, she and her husband became good friends with me very quickly, going the extra steps of checking on my health or bringing me a snack quite regularly. In summary, I can't think of anything negative to say about Parkshore.
