My real recommendation is "yes" if you like a private attached garage, else "no." I very much liked having an attached private garage ala Town House style, so I decide to stay here.
I don't like their non-refundable $150 so called "Ammenity Fee" which allows the staff to falsely advertise the rent price. And there are no included utilities.
Snow removal was adequate. The parking is somewhat limited so residents who own two cars may have issues trying to fit in a one-bedroom.
The maintenance staff is suspect. They were not able to clean up cat urine from the previous renter's pet. So I exercised the lease cancellation clause. They were able to find me a cleaner appartment so I decided to stick it out.
The washer/dryer is noisy.
My current neighbors are quiet and friendly.
I do like the Office Staff. I do think they realize their property is over-priced. They become hard-nosed, however, during lease renogitation. There is nothing wrong about that except that the market rate for these appartments are now about $50 below lease renewal.
TVMax, the cable company sucks. There is no FNC for all you Wheaton Conservatives. The broad band cable is expensive $80/month for 1.5 Mbps up and down. And Avalon does get a kickback. Comcast is not available so there is marginal incentive to improve service. Not apartments can install DirecTv (another $100 deosit if you do).
The maintenance staff does not trust the residences to exercise common sense:
The water heater and furnance closets are locked, and there is a circuit breaker lock on the fire alarm.
