Place liveable, but management very uncooperative

If you need a place to stay cheaply and in this location this is a good deal. But as far as building goes.. its very, very old and sometimes the ceilings leak(if you on the ground floor) or the walls seem to absorb water when there is heavy rain or snow. The carpets are very, very dirty and old. Regardless of how old it is or if animals lived there, they will not replace the carpet (and they charge you in the end for the dirty carpet too). They are very wonderful when you are a new renter, but sign the lease and however 'perfect' renter you might be, they treat you terribly.
The security deposit should be counted as a one-time expense as they dont intend to give it back, they will claim some grout or natural wear and tear on the carpets or minor scratches on the walls as the reason.
The only plus was the maintenance people who are usually courteous and they fix any problems pretty fast during their working hours. Call after hours and its a different story .. I would not really recommend this place to anyone unless they are in a tight financially and are trying to save money, once in a while they have good deals going on..
