My fiance' and I decided to move to the western suburbs away from the southside of Chicago shortly after undergrad and found Briarbrook vilage to be conveiniently located and reasonably priced. The amenities weren't all that fabulous but in comparison to where I grew up it was utopia. Much to my dismay I now feel as if I've moved into some sort of suburban ghetto. My problems began when lights would not stop flickering, and was quickly followed by constant partying on the second floor by a kid who I found out wasn't even on the lease, I now have some bulge in the ceiling which my grandma said was water damage, and my bathroom has floodeed three times in six months from upstairs. I tried not to be ---- but things got worse as parking became a nightmare and parking in the firelane has become somewhat of a routine as I have no other options less than a 1/4 mile. I was also not pleased with the insensitivity that I received upon complaining to management staff. All of this was becoming too much to bear then one morning on my way to work U.S. Marshalls rushed my apt looking for some hispanic drug czar. I was offered little more than a weak apology. This building in my opinion is a great starter apartment for college kids or single moms trying to inhabit better communities. I am a fairly young guy and typically don't do this much bickering but I feel as if my concerns went unnoticed and I am forced to lash out in writing. Briarbrook has the potential to be something great but first they'l have to update their property, rental staff, and parking procedures!

I lived at Briar Brook Village way back in the early 1990's. It wasn't too good then. It is a place for the poor.
