Last November or so there was a change in management. The apartment is a great bargain for what you get. The buildings are a little older and the kitchens need some updating, but overall, the units are great. Free water, free heat (radiated modern steam, from what I can tell).

Fairly quiet and serene complex

Pros:
Large apartments for the price
Pet friendly (small to large dogs, cats, etc)
Free Water
Free Heat (steam/radiated)
Lots of room for living/storage
Microwave
Quiet
Convenient location
Friendly neighbors
Well-insulated both summer/winter and noise

Cons:
No central AC (wall unit that does a decent job)
Guest parking is on a side street, but lot parking isn't usually enforced
No On-Site staff (they come out when there's a problem, or during snow to clear the sidewalks)
Rent is sent in via post
Washer/Dryer in building, not unit. Dryer's aren't that efficient
Kitchen cabinets/counter could use some modernizing

This must have been posted by the "New Management". The last few months this property has gone all wrong. The gutters have weeds growing in them. The hallways smell like urine. The laundry area is just gross. The management takes days if not weeks to fix problems.

I would agree with the post on 7/20/08. While the gutters have been cleaned since then, I let the management know in July that the gutters were in fact broken on the west side of one of the buildings. Well, it's now the end of August and they still haven't fixed the problem. I don't even do my laundry here because it's so gross. Also, when my lease was up for renewal this year, they increased it by 8%! I don't know about you, but that seems a little high to me. If I had had more time, I would've moved out before I had to renew. I definitely won't be renewing my lease next year.

I'm not new management. I've reviewed other places on this site. The March post was before they upped the rent on my lease, along with the other problems during the summer. But let's face it, so what that there were weeds growing in the gutters. Park away from the building. Its a 2 bedroom, 1000 sq ft for less than $1000 a month. Good luck finding a place for these prices w/o problems. I guarantee you won't be able to. Yeah in Wheaton there're a couple of cheap apartments, but the ones that are cheaper are far worse, and the ones that are a little nicer are more money. Forget about paying less than $1200 a month for something that is "nice."
