Are there any positive comments out there'

It sounds as if some of the people writing these negative comments are not used to community living. Some of these complaints are typical of dense living areas - condos included, unless they have personnel monitoring entry doors and elevators. Coming from the City for some green grass and relief from congestion and lots of random, unpredictable criminal activity, I am amused. We had our car stolen out of our driveway in a posh townhome community in an area of the City filled with politicians, commissioners and police and fire department execs.
Try leaving your car parked with nothing that interests burglars visible. Do your car alarms work'
If the complex is being renovated and you can't handle those inconveniences - move into a new community. Construction is disruptive, inconvenient and takes a long time.
If you are suspicious of anyone in the halls or garage, call the police. If apartment management sees police onsite enough at resident request - they will upgrade their monitoring FAST. Without an onsite security team and camera monitoring of public areas - police are the appropriate call.
I have noticed the rude Russians - they need to lighten up. WC can't monitor mannners, but can tabulate the number of complaints and can enforce lease terms with offending tenants - ie -peaceful enjoyment to be enjoyed by ALL - particularly those living in pet friendly buildings, managing their animals and paying handsomely to have those pets o-nsite.
Look at your lease and use it to your advantage.
The management office is more likely to respond to objective, factual complaints - in writing and copied to corporate. If tenancy is low at WC - management already knows why - tenant complaints presented consistently and objectively will not be ignored.
I wear silicone earplugs at night to block out my husbands snoring - it works. If you don't have kids to monitor at night - try earplugs. Once again, as a City dweller - earplugs have saved my sanity - screaming sirens / trains / neighbor's garage door opening / paper deliveries etc.
If you expect a silent, totally secure living environment - move to a gated community with security cars roving all day. You won't find total security anywhere, including the North Shore single family neighborhoods.
Laundry facilities need to work - no argument there.
RE: corridors looking like hotels - go look at condos in luxury highrises downtown - they look like hotels as well and some are not as wide or well lit as WC.
