First, the office staff is dishonest and misleading. They do whatever it takes to fill the apartments, but the model they show you is nothing like what they put you in. The model was nice, and the layout was good, but the unit I got was nothing like it.
The refrigerator was broken, and it took them over a week to get a new one in. Meanwhile, I spent tons of money on food that got spoiled.
The air conditioners are old and they break down a lot. They make loud screeching noises or just shut off. Good luck getting them replaced. They just hemmed and hawed for 2 weeks and then told me that there were none available.
The main door to the building I was in was broken, anybody could have gotten in easily. And they did. There were many nights that there were kids on the stairs smoking pot - none of whom lived in my building.
Maintenance is hard to come by - even in health issues. I had a pest problem and a smell from the day I moved in, and the day I moved out it was still there. There was a nest of some sort growing along the edge of my balcony door, and after several attempts to get the issue resolved, I finally called the DuPage County Health Department.
Lights around the complex are constantly out, gang symbols spray painted on the main sign. Loitering and loud music until early in the morning...especially in the summer. Cops showed up every weekend in some area of the complex from the time I moved in until the time I left. I have heard gunshots and screaming from the front area of the complex.
The dishwasher was molded out and I worked for a year to get that replaced...to no avail.
I had drunk people knocking down my door early in the morning on several occasions...they had the wrong apartment...they just got in to a supposedly "secure" building.
This place is unsafe and unsavory. And don't even THINK about going to Pine Ridge, across the street...it's worse.
For affordable apartment living in Woodridge, I would go to what used to be called Maple Lake Apartments (under new management) on the corner of 7th street and Woodward Ave. (behind Arby's) They have done a beautiful job, and all the units match the model.
