What happened to the pool being open from Memorial Day to Labor Day' It is already into June and the office claims they do not know the hours of the pool'! The temp has been in the 80's and no pool! I thought one of the wonderful admenities of this apartment complex was the pool. It is June- It is hot- And we do not have access to our pool- The pool that we pay for! Has anyone else had an issue with this' gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7

I was actually interested in the Woodstock Apartments until I read all these complaints. Literally going back to 2005. That's a lot of negative. I thought I'd give you this link to the BBB on Oakbrook Corporation. There seems to be nothing against them, and from what your writing maybe there should be! BBB Link- http://wisconsin.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=28&bbb=0694&firm=44022127
I was also wondering. Does anyone have any comments on the 3 bedroom units? Are the problems the same for all, are the 3 bedroom units newer? Just curious.

I agree, forgot the post the mold issue, oh, and what about the THREE water leaks WITHIN the walls that we have had in our three bedroom over the past years. Thanks for the link to the BBB, maybe we should do that, and I'm thinking to start a community action group within the complex. email me, great.lakes.paranormal@hotmail.com

If you guys can afford a lawyer, then what the hell are you doing on a section 42 property. And when you complain about something, to make it valid, or even worth reading, make sure your grammar and spelling are correct. Seems to me that if you read your lease, or any other GOVERNMENT owned property, you would know that these things are required by law. Way to make yourselves look like a bunch of idiots. I applaud and laugh at you.

I personally do not think we are here to correct anyones grammer on here. I think someone is truely disrespecting the true facts that are really happening here. And nothing seems to get resolved I think we are here to make a statement and let others know our past experiences and to inform the public and the media and the proper authorities to take immediate action and resolve the issues. If we all did not care in this complex and let the things happen then we are foolish and have been taken advantage of our rights and we are too stupid to do a dam thing about it. Wether it is section 42 the slums or Trump towers. I certainly think the issues should be rectified and fixed the first time. I have always got a notice put on my door that they will be doing inspections within a 24 hour notice. And I have been here 3 years already with inspections every year here. Maybe others have not! Yes there is free legal advice out there even on the internet I have found it very useful. Cause I had to use it. As far as the 3 bedrooms are concerned they are not new. They have been here since they were built with the complex. I have yet to see any mold in areas of a 3 bedroom. The only issue I do have is that you can hear the rodents in the drywall inbetween the walls and the fact the walls are so thin that you can hear people going to the bathroom and hear people having sex in there bedrooms. No soundboard used in any of the units. They should have thought about that when being built. The issues that I do have is other tenants being disrespectful leaving unwanted notes on my car and on my door for unknown reasons. These games are childish and if they can not confront them face to face or ask if you are comiting these issues. Then by far these tenants should not assume it is the neighbor that live close to them. I am tired of getting blamed for someone else mishaps. You got to wonder how these type of people made it thru the screening process.I think I will leave a note on there car perhaps and tell them to get a life! Or something that is not so nice! And you do have to ask many times in the management office to verify certain procedures and rent payment. As all the coworkers there have all diffrent answers. For example I asked about a price of an apartment here and have got 3 diffrent prices of what rent would be. So you do have to repeat yourself and say well she said this and she said that. Now what is the rent charge. So I strongly believe that there should be more training in the management office as everyone should be on the same page with all of there answers. I personally think that also when they put laundry units in the 2 and 3 bedroom apartment they should not be charging the person who has them in ther unit. Never heard of this ever. I can see it in the hall way units. But that is the reason why we are paying more rent to have these in our unit. So explain why one would want to pay a buck a load when they can certainly go to the laundramat to do the same. I am glad to hear there is a myspace and other areas to vent complaints and also someone is reading the stories. And I am sure there will be others who will read these stories and think twice before really committing to this complex. There are other complexes in the Mchenry County area that are far better then the treatment here.

This is in response to the person who commented on our grammar and the ability to afford a lawer.
First, there's a little group called the ACLU, maybe you've heard of them. They have lawyers willing to work for free. That's who I contacted and got my legal advice from.
Second, not all of us are on housing assistance or the section 42. I'm not. I make far more than the income allowed to live here, I just pay much more in rent than 95% of the people living in this complex. Woodstock Common's management has been very misleading about what the section 42 is. Yes, the law does state that if you are on ANY sort of government program (Section 42 included) you could possibly have your apartment inspected annually. The law also states that a landlord has to provide you with ample notice for the inspection and the inspection in no way can be an intrusion into your privacy. Woodstock Commons has not followed their part of the law and that's part of why we're fighting back.
