I have lived at Cross Lakes for over a year now. At first, it seemed like an okay place considering it was my first apartment and I was working my first full-time job. The only things that bothered me at first were the pathetic excuse for an "exercise room" and the fact that it took maintenance about 4 months and multiple phone calls to fix my leaky toilet. The biggest pain after moving in was trying to get high-speed internet access. They advertise it as being available, but they don't tell you what you have to go through to get it. It took about 2 months and hours of phone calls to finally get it set up. Oh, and they also told me that within just a few months, they would have their own T1 line run and be able to provide direct connections for all residents. What a load of bull that was.

So now it's over a year later, and I'm back to being without high-speed internet. You see, Cross Lakes has a contract with DirecTV to provide satellite television. And being the cheapskates that they are, CL only runs one data line into your apartment. This means that if you want the satellite and cable internet (through Insight), you have to run both signals on the same line. Well, it turns out that this is not a very smart thing to do. A couple weeks ago, the high voltage on the satellite feed finally killed my internet connection. Insight has offered to run a dedicated line for me, but the management of CL (Monarch Management) won't let them. So I call up Ken Puller, the owner of CL, and he tells me that if I'm so unhappy then I can just move out. Excuse me'' I have only dealt with one other person in my life who was so unprofessional. Not only are the not actively helping in providing the services that they say are available, but they are actively RESTRICTING access!! Mr. Puller has until the end of the week to resolve this satisfactorily. If he does not, I am filing suit against him, Monarch Management, The Puller Group, and Cross Lakes Apartments. I have already retained counsel and am taking this very seriously.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the mice that I had running around my apartment for over a week and the people in the office wouldn't do anything about.
