I have been a tenant here at Hoosier Woods Apartments over three years. I have seen at least three changes in managemnt none have been like the previous, nor has the past managers stayed long enough to trully evaluate their good and bad points as time and tenants here change.
I am not a youngman any longer but I have lived a lot of places, this is by far not close to the worse. I read about fights, my response to this is that fights always break-out amongst people even the very well to do neighborhood sad to see it usually is keep quiet!
The other issue is drugs being sold here, and drugs being smoked on their balcony since you appear to a self appointed "Neighborhood Watchdog" why pray-tell don't you do something to curtail this constant criminal behavior. If you see the children see it, personally living in these appears I have "NEVER SEEN DRUG ACTIVITY."
I have heard fighting in my upstair but it was diffult to determine if it was fighting because it was always this type of noise being heard in the upper apartments. We complained about it many times to management, only to be told quote" they will send out a Notice!" Some people care about people and their safty and welfair any this is the reason I called this in.
In my 3 years here as a tenant this group of managemnet is the worse that I have seen and experience anywhere on this planet when comes to realestate management.
They are a very rude group (Lacking civility or good manners), the present manager used to work as a "State Inspector", and her assistance is just that her assistance
(The activity of contributing to the fulfillment of a need or furtherance of an effort or purpose-base on what the boss says and wants) or the nice people except one was let go or found jobs els where.
The Hoosier Woods Apartments I would see is a decent=Sufficient for the purpose and there will come a time when you want to move out for whatever reason you may decide on!
It is not "Heaven Woods Apartments", it could have better management, a better 24 hr Response Hotline to deal with important pressing issues, it could have cleaner pool water, it could police the area better since it is on the city limit bordenline (half is and half is not). Things do get done when asked but the same things many times resurface, particularly plumbing and electrical-or constant electrical outages which Hoosier Woods blames on Anderson Utility and vice versa Anderson Utility says is the fault of Hoosier Woods.
The recent fire was very terrifying in that it suppossibly displaced upto 46 peopl and destroyed 16 apartments, that God everyone got out safe. But the scary thing about this building burning is that there were no firewalls to stop the fire, and the whole top floor burned within approximately 30minutes or more-that's frightening.
Then viewing the aftermath structure which happens to be still standing looking like a ugly sight of a bombing in Beirut or some simular horriable sight to further traumatize women and children and yes men in fear of would could happen if your unit ever got caught on fire.
In three years I have seen a beautiful outside apartment become ugly and undesirable to people seeking a "Subsidized Family Dwelling" or just a place to leave.
The conclusion to all this is tenants and especially to managements will quite frankly tell you; "Love It or Leave It or Hate It and Stay."
This is the reason that give you a 3months to sign you next year Lease, sometimes not getting all the information that is needed to properly go into another lease.
If you are thinking of becoming a tenant here go online read what you can, the building in my opinion and observing the fire are not safe, my own experience the management is a professional group of "Androids" designed to collect rent and maintain this facilty to look good-so enter after your own investigation.
And think of Hoosier Woods Apartments as a subsidized high level apartments mixed with good guys and bad guys, good backgrounds and not so good. A always imagine youself living with people trying to keep a rough over their head, 5 days late warning of 15 days with a instant $45 dollar late fee, after the 15 days paper are sent to the court for eviction (regularless of your problem-your problem will full on death ears). With this eviction additional $150 filing fee and $450 attorney fee, and in most districts of the contiguous USA court system you will lost-Subsidized high cost apartment.
I am a TENANT, and I approve these words!

I completley agree. The manager has no business being in a position of power.

Well I know when I lived there Hoosier Woods was not a subsidized complex and all places that I have lived have charged me late fees when I did not pay on time. When I signed my lease with Hoosier Woods I clearly read the lease terms and was very well aware that I would be charged if I did not pay my rent on time, I knew I was required to redo all paperwork every year or turn in a 60 day notice to move. I was also very well aware that my 12 year son was not allowed to be unsupervised while being out on property, which was fine with me as it was for the safety of my family. I am not sure who the current office staff is as I have not lived there for two years but I know that before the office staff was just doing their jobs by enforcing the lease that I had signed when moving in. I was not there for the fire but did hear about it via the newspaper, my only response that would be if the building was not properly protected with what you are calling fire walls then the city would have never approved it. I know that when I was having my house built there was a lot of red tape that I had to go through just for the city to allow the building of my house. If you are honestly this unhappy why would you remain there for over three years.
