We just moved to the area and have only been here a few months but it is not as bad as some of the older reviews have said. I think they have cleaned up their act a bit. First of all, the office staff are very nice. I speak with them on a regular basis and they are always cheerful and helpful, especially Nikki. The maintenance crew does a good job but are overworked. Some issues can take a long time to get resovled if it is not a priority. But there are some nice amenities, like a pool and a fitness room and a meeting area that you can reserve for parties and such and includes a kitchen, TV and a billiard table. Wal-Mart is also literally within walking distance so that is a plus.
I think the biggest problem is that the apartments, while they appear nice, are made on the cheap. You can hear a lot from your neighbors, it is a bit drafty in the winter and you need to run the AC a lot in the summer to keep cool. So, insulation is a problem. I have had to request a couple of items for the place and everything seems to be custom made so it can take months to order replacements.
This also explains why the maintenance staff is overworked. Cheap apartmens need lots of repairs. But that is not the staff's fault. That is the owner's and developer's faults. The staff all do the best they can and that's not bad. They even hold parties for the tenants occaisionally, like at Christmas, for the Super Bowl, or a pool party in the summer. They accept pets, for an additional deposit, and there are carports and garages available if you are interested. They cost extra, too, of course. Leases can be yearly, semi-, or month-to-month.
Yes, we've had some problems with bugs and nosiy neighbors and all that, but I've lived in worse places, believe me.
But the location is OK and pretty convenient to shopping, downtown Indianapolis and more. Just my two cents worth. Hope it helps.
