Ridiculous, immature, unprofessional management

If I find one more "report card" wedged in my door regarding management's complaints about the tenants that live here I'm going to scream. This is insane. We keep receiving various notices reminding us what Washington Quarter's policies and rules are ranging from how to drive in the complex to when rent is due. Please, if I wanted to hear people complain I would have went to a town board meeting. Not only are the nature of the notices demeaning, it looks like a two year-old wrote them. Management needs to go green and go after the violators instead of wasting trees and their tenant's time.

One of the perks of being in an apartment is that you don't have to fix appliances that are outdated and so far I've had to fix every single thing I've reported because the maintenance crew can't fix it right the first time. I've given up on reporting broken appliances, I'll fix the damn things myself.

The upstairs tenants have parties all the time and they sound like a bunch of rhinos running around. I want to know how they can afford their apartment because it seems like they don't work. Actually, it seems like a lot of people around here don't work.

On a positive note Washington Quarters keep their grounds well manicured.

If you do decide to move here move to an apartment on the upper level or spend the extra cash on a duplex. I personally do not like how noisy it is around here from all of the parties and I do not like to see management complaining about tenants.

Amen! Yes, the stupid little notices that keep appearing on my door are annoying. Its easy enough to simply throw them away, but the above resident was right on when they said that they are demeaning and gramatically inaccurate. I think they have a bunch of high school drop-outs running the show up there! On top of that, they arbitrarily decided to start charging $1 for every guest that you bring to the swimming pool and each resident has to have their own special pool pass like its some club to get in. First of all, there is hardly anyone ever there when I go (at all different times of the day), and second of all, does the manager of the place pay for her daughter and all of her friends to come swimming in the pool because the last time I was there she had about 10 of her daughters friends swimming. I personally don't care if they are there or if there are a bunch of people there, but don't act like you're going to charge the residents when you don't stick to the same standards. I've never heard of a complex charging tenant's guests to swim in the pool. I could understand if there was an issue with a large number of non-residents swimming in the place, but this has never been an issue so I don't know why all of the sudden they want to start doing this. To be honest, I haven't noticed the office actually charging people, but the fact that they made a big stink about it and sent out several notices (falling in line with the prior tenant's complaint about stupid notices) telling everyone what they had to do was very annoying. I can't say that I've had any maintenance issues that went unaddressed or that I've had loud neighbors so I won't complain about that, but I have had smoking neighbors that make the entire common area of the place smell horribly. Since I'm on the topic of horrible smells, need I mention that there is a sewage treatment facility on the grounds? If you live anywhere in the back by this facility, expect that it will smell like sewage quite often. The smell is not there every day so you may be misled into believing that it isn't a big problem or that it doesn't smell at all, but you don't typically smell it during the day. In the evenings and early morning is when the smell is awful! You can't even keep your windows open to let in fresh air because the air isn't fresh. Several other residents in the area have mentioned that had they known about the facility before they moved in, they wouldn't have moved there. When the managment shows you an open unit, they will drive out of their way to avoid the treatment facility so you do not question it. My biggest complaint above all the stupid notices is the god awful smell of the place. I believe in another prior complaint a woman complained about the place affecting her health because of the treatment facility. I haven't actually confirmed anything for myself yet, but I have been a perfectly healthy person for all of my life and have suddenly somehow came down with some sort of respiratory issue that I believe may be caused by the chemicals and other particles in the air released by the treatment facility. Again, I haven't confirmed the cause of it nor will I probably every know how it was caused, but I have a constant dry cough that has not gone away since I started living at the Washington Quarters Apartments. It could be a total coincidence, but maybe not. I would be very very cautious about moving to this place even though the rent is a pretty good rate for the area. Other than the above complaints, the place appears nice, is in a good location (with the exception of the treatment facility), and is relatively quiet.
