Not bad for short term living......

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
We moved into Washington Quarters apartments in August 2008. The "main" reason we chose to live there was because we needed a 6 month lease (while our house is being built) and they were the only place decent we could find that would give us one. We went into the apartment knowing that the smell was horrible - and it definatly was! The apartment itself was decent - except we could tell that there were animals in the apartment prior to us (carpet kind of stunk). The apartment was very clean when we moved in and pretty much what we would expect from an apartment. I will say, contrary to many reviews I have read, we never had any issues with the staff. We almost always dealt with the young blonde girl and were always treated very well. Our only real complaint dealt with moving out. Our house was done two months early. We went in to talk to the manager and see if it was at all possible to get out of our lease early (paying some sort of penalty/fee), and making it possible for them to rent to someone else on their waiting list. The manager told us that was not possible, however, she tried to talk us into vacating the property two months early but still paying rent the full term of the lease (obviously so she could rent it out and make double the rent). Since they weren't willing to work with us, we kept the apartment the full 6 months (since we were going to have to pay anyways) and just slowly moved our stuff out. It was frustrating to us knowing they actually had a waiting list for the little houses (we were in a one-bedroom house, not a building) but would not work with us. Overall, I would recommend Washington Quarters if you can deal with the smell.
