[The following comments refer to a 2-bedroom, 2nd floor apartment]

Good points:

1) Well-built with quality materials and fixtures

2) Floors have a layer of lightweight concrete material over the subfloor to dampen noise. This works VERY well.

3) Soundproof walls separate adjacent units, but only standard wall between the individual units and the hallway.

4) Central gas heating and air-conditioning

5) Manager is friendly, generally available and helpful.

6) Maintenance/repair is quick and efficient.

7) Outgoing mailbox in each building

8) Parking spaces are wide and plentiful.

Bad Points:

1) Noise can be a problem, depending on who you are living next to. Like most apartments, you have no control over what brand of inconsiderate jerk might be living right on the other side of the wall from you. This is why houses were invented.

2) Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I have had numerous disagreeable smells migrate into my apartment from the apartment right below mine (e.g.-cooking odors, tobacco smoke). I have not been able to determine exactly how this happens, and it can be frustrating if you are particular about air quality.

3) Insufficient telephone jacks: One in each bedroom, and one wall-jack in kitchen. THAT'S IT.

3) Because of the placement of the dryer vent outlet, the washer/dryer alcove will not accommodate the medium and larger size appliances.

4) No garage or carport available

SUMMARY: Overall, a good value. The quality of your experience may depend most heavily on who happens to be living in the same building with you.
