Pros:

The staff are much nicer than I ever imagined landlords to be. They know us by name and room, and have been very fair in their business dealings with us. We got this apartment on a special rate reduction last year, when they were trying to pull in tenants for the school year, and when rates rose universally for lease renewals that special was not negated (we're still paying less than last year's "full" rate). The attic space is very handy, and there's more than enough room in the cupboards and closets for everything that a couple of college students would need. There is always ample parking, and we're hardly ever disturbed by neighbors and traffic. I feel very at home and wish I didn't have to move after graduation.


Cons:

There is only one bus that services the property, and it only comes once an hour (not Acadia's fault, but if you're the type who's chronically late for the bus and depends on the next one, it isn't a prime location). The building is quite old, and as such has outdated insulation and heating/cooling systems. It doesn't look or feel decrepit, though--the rooms are spacious and the walls, carpets, and kitchen appliances are in good shape. We do not have the choicest of neighbors, and keep hoping that person who blares his bass from dawn 'til dusk will get a job one of these days. The laundry rooms do not have coin machines, but each unit comes equipped with a utility room with hook-ups and it's easy to get your hands on some cheap washers/dryers (or rent them).
