I Love My Beautiful and Quiet BLOOM Apartment

I am shocked after reading the other reviews on this site.

Now that the apartments have been completely renovated, they are called BLOOM Apartments. I am happier here than I have been in any other apartment. I am fond of the office staff, especially one woman who came in after hours on a Saturday night to let me into my apartment (I arrived late and came from out of state). Other staff members have treated me with respect, and even remembered my name and career field when I paid rent.

I love walking around Millennium Park. I never hear my neighbors. My patio faces the woods, it's very private, and I rarely ever see anyone walk past my windows -- unless they are maintaining the lawn and bushes. I have noticed that someone on an upper balcony throws a ton of cigarette butts onto the lawn, and I've considered reporting this.

The rent is reasonable, considering the size of the apartment and the amenities included. I find my dishwasher incredibly quiet in comparison to others I have used. The full-size washer and dryer are wonderful. There is a TON of storage space, including a pantry, coat closet, linen closet, and walk-in closet. There is even a remote control for the ceiling fan and dimmer in the living area.

The new hardwood floors are beautiful; the new light fixtures are very modern; and the paint colors are pleasing to the eye. Parking has never been an issue for me, although the students haven't been in town since I moved here. The windows are very new, and you can easily lock them, too. I have found several spiders and other insects, but I am hoping their monthly pest control can help take care of that.

I cannot get my wireless network up and stable, but when I stay plugged in -- the connection is fast and keeps me happy. The 42-inch HD TV is definitely luxury, and it's nice to have some HD channels included with the monthly amenities fee.

I have used the pool many times, which is warm, clean, and inviting (never very crowded)...and I plan to use the gym as well. I am waiting for the Amenities Center to open up (I was told it would be open three weeks ago), and hopefully it will be as nice as it looks online. Everyone around the complex has been friendly, and I definitely do not regret signing a lease here (...yet).

I have never had to pay a $35/month pet fee, plus a $400 pet deposit...but my cat likes it here. So, be prepared to spend that money if you do own a pet. They allow you to pay the pet deposit in monthly increments of $100 for the first four months, and it is 100% refundable.

My only real complaint is that when I flush the toilet, it runs for quite a while and seems a bit loud. I do wish the oven had a light inside, or at least the stove could have a clock...but maybe that's being too picky'

We'll see how you feel about them when you get ready to move out. I loved it there too until I tried to leave....

Im not one to jump to conclusions as i strongly believe innocent until proven other wise, but.. well lets face it this review reads more like an advertisement rather then a critique. they even tangle up there own review talking points; saying its quiet yet the only real complaint she has is the noise in the last paragraph. For an apartement complex whoes target clientele are college students this neatly, well written blurb comes across suspect, especially considering bloom has been up and going for just a month or two already, and this person knows so much (did they really read through and remember all that information in the lease?) It just seems every review up here is negative, and most chief complaint is the office staff; the very first thing lauded in this reviews first paragraph. Other reviews claim that office staff is writing "reviews" on here for balance, we shall never know for sure, but alas, thus goes the internet.

I am not trying to advertise for Bloom, they do enough of that on their own. Plus, I'd much rather that families lived here than college students. I am an educated and professional woman, who happens to work as a full-time case manager from her home office. This is why I wrote such a glowing review. I was thankful to find such a nice apartment available in mid-June; I only had a week to sign a lease before my other lease ended out-of-state. Not much was available in Bloomington that was not a sublet. My review was not intended to be read as suspect, but rather as a detailed summary of what Bloom has been like for me so far.

to the geminitre, I believe that you mis-understood her statement about noise. I am sure in the beginning it was to be read as in she cannot hear disturbances from neighbors etc., while she had the complaint of a toilet as being a little loud. That is two different contexts. I have yet to check out bloom but I am only doing research, I even read the sample lease, it sounds fair enough and the remodeling seems to at least give better quality from other apartments around the area. Now that these are the first bad reviews I have found, I do hope that bloom/millennium, takes these and improves on their policy, if they want to keep resident applicants coming in.
