Bart Villa was nice in initial appearance. However, after moving in, several problems went unaddressed by management. My mailbox lock was broken during my entire stay- I finally removed it to allow me to open the box (resulting in the mail carrier cutting off my mail). While the allowance of dog occupancy might be attractive to pet-owners, be forewarned- barking complaints are generally ignored. My upstairs neighbor's dog barked perpetually when she left- after several complaints to the tenant, management, and police, I finally gave up. Similarly, late night noise regulations were not enforced and I was compelled to begin using earplugs.
Pest complaints were also unheeded. Rent checks had to be mailed to Indianapolis; mail delays would result in the levy of a late fee.
Finally, I was not returned any portion of my security deposit, and was actually billed for $59, vaguely charging $200 for "painting/maintenance" and $50 for "cleaning."
Looking at the other reviews (on this site) of additional Deer Park properties, there seems to be a strong pattern of negligence and insensitive predomination. I strongly recommend that you steer clear of this corporation.
