We lived in Bart villa during the 2005-06 school year, and it was the worst renting experience of our lives. They treated us terribly the moment we signed the lease, maintenance was overworked and left issues unattended for months at a time. Noise was horrible. The heat never turned off and they never got the A/C on in time (90 degrees inside!!!!) When we finally left, they tried to charge us for carpet damages that did not exist. We ended up taking them to court in April 2007 for the amount that they withheld from our deposit, and we WON! (I'm still very excited about this!) The judge found their reasoning and "calculations" to be complete BS and also ordered them to pay lawyer's fees to IU Student Legal Services (a free service to students- like myself!). I want everyone to know that this company is horrible, and while I'm sure they will try to keep this lawsuit under wraps, I can tell EVERYONE what they did. DON'T rent at any of Deer Park Management's properties. They think they can bend the law to suit their profit and screw their tenants.
Well, THEY CAN'T!
