There are better places to live

I lived at BV for 2 1/2 years and I have to echo most of what I see here, especially about the air conditioning not working. On the positive side, I loved the green space of the courtyard (though it could be fixed up a bit), the location is wonderful for people like me who work/study on the south side of the campus most of the time, it's a great place for pet owners, and I enjoyed the on-site laundry (the machines were not numerous but they did work). However, the negatives outweighed the positives for me, the negatives being: little to no control over the a/c in the summer (no prob in the winter), some noise which the management was pretty decent about dealing with, the price per square foot, and the irksome fees that added up and added up. The pool, btw, is at College Mall Apartments, is small, and is always dirty. I never had a problem with parking myself and I always got along with my neighbors who ranged from fellow grad students to weed-dealing undergrads to numerous, generally nice foreign families. However, when I left (Nov. '06) there were more families with more kids running around making noise which disrupted the previously calm, green atmosphere. I would not live here again and I'm happy to be done with this management company. The office staff were always nice and helpful, as were the maintenance people. The management is the problem. I would not live in any of their other properties. To sum up, if you don't mind 85 degree heat inside in the summer, if you're willing to trade location for price, and if you can block out the noise of kids and the occasional undergrad party, you'd be okay here. But if, like me, you must have working central air in the summer, don't rent here. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ
