You're likely to lose your whole deposit AND get charged for extra damage if there's anything they can find (or make up) to charge you for. One off-color spot in the fridge resulted in $190 of cleaning charges. They charged me nearly $1,000 to replace carpet which was supposed to be replaced shortly after I moved in, but never was. It took over a year of arguing with them to get the carpet charge removed. They refused to tell me what $750 of "maintenance" was for, but still insist that I pay it.

They all seemed VERY nice at the outset, but that quickly changed. It's a good show they put on to get you to sign the lease.

They will blow you off cold as soon as they get your signature on the lease. The carpeting that they use is a cheap, coarse fake Berber that they buy wholesale for $200 per unit and then they routinely bill you for $1,000 after you leave so they profit by $800. The carpet is not meant to hold up more than one year. Bring in your own carpet expert to get a true estimate of what it would cost to replace it if they take you to court. They do not do "maintenance" because Mike Fitzgerald's property manager Mike and maintenance director Ted hire their buddies and relatives to screw you over by blaming any maintenance request on your "abuse." They take afvantage of single people and those who are not connected to the powers-that-be in Bloomington. The Monroe County courthouse is rigged and you will be the one to lose i.e. Max Stillwell v. Deer Park Management (do a Google search to see how Fitzgerald screws over military servicement risking their lives to serve our country while he jacks off over the ill-gotten gains of his pathetic practices.)

The complex itself is nice, especially compared to other Bloomington apartments. HOWEVER, there are two major problems with it. First, any maintenance request placed takes at least 3-4 calls before they finally send someone to check on it and repairs take a long time too. Second, they attempt to charge you for their normal wear and tear repairs when you leave and anything else they can possibly make up. I left the apartment much better than when I moved it. I even cleaned the walls with a scotch bright pad. A month later they send a bill for painting totaling over $1,000! A neighbor friend of mine said they sent her a bill for $1,700 for carpet replacement despite there being no stains on her carpet when she moved out. Both of us were present at move out inspections but the inspector refused to let either of us see the move out list and did not say anything except that they would review the charges and get back to us. We both had to go to small claims court to get our deposits back and to keep from paying over $1,000 in additional claimed damages. Outside of this dishonest scam, the year there was nice.
