good apartments, poorly managed

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
This was my best option as a cat owner and a student. When I moved in (2004) the staff were intelligent, professional, and kind. Then they got a new office crew who were, at best, well-intentioned idiots with bland to bad personalities, at worst, greedy automatons with chips in their heads. The new management also stopped giving grad student discounts, and our complex quickly went from being a peaceful haven to party central, with drunk people sometimes congregating en masse in the halls and around the entrances until the wee hours.
Good points: The "no solicitation" rule is enforced whenever possible, and if you report door knockers, office staff will hurry right out and confront them. Maintenance is quick, friendly, and efficient. The apartments themselves are fine. Irresponsible dog owners are dealt with fairly and efficiently from what I observed, though of course, they always complained.
Bring the old management back and I'd happily live there again.
