I lived in Meadow Park for one year. I found the place online, and leased it it via online. When I first got there, I was really impressed with how clean the apartment was for move in. I was in one of the newer upgraded units and everything looked great. It's only after looking around and living there for a bit that you start to notice many flaws. First of all, don't get a basement apartment. Your bedroom window will be your second fire escape, so you cannot have a screen in your window, meaning you can never open it, not like it matters because sun does not shine in the basement apartments. The water tanks are just in a utility closet, and the water leaks everywhere in that closet. That leads to LOTS of bugs. I had sprickets in my apartment everywhere!! Granted they are harmless but they're still disgusting. I had friends with non-basement apartments that didn't have any of these problems. Also, buying online I didn't realize how far it would be from campus, but that's not MP's fault.
Grounds were usually neat, but pool closed kind of early (time and season) The fitness center is a joke. There is an old squeaky treadmill, a sit down exercise bike, and 1 convertible nautilus machine that is incredibly old. The laundry room can be quite far from your apartment, since there is only one room for it, and often times you cannot get enough washers/dryers for your needs.
Management was usually great to respond to issues. My apartment got flooded from rain one time, and they were there hours later to clean it up. They were really good about notifying you about packages. One warning about management, don't ever be a day late on rent...you will get charged $40 extra for it. I am used to having a three day rent grace period, so I was surprised by their strictness. I kept my apartment really neat, so I got almost my entire security deposit back.
Overall, you could do a lot worse.
