We moved in expecting this beautiful apartment and were sadly disappointed!! I had a huge list of stuff to be fixed. I'm on day 3 of getting crap fixed so I went to the office and I got chewed out by the property owner. One of the items to be worked on was my washer didn't fit the plug they had on the wall. I'm not an expert on these things and the property owner told me it was my responsibility to put in a new electrical unit. My mouth dropped!!!! The owner is very nasty and this isn't the first time we gotten in to it. She treats you like the scum of the earth! If you re not sick or dieing she could care less!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately we are stuck for a year!!

You mentioned a lot of problems in general, but unfortunately the specific problem with the washer probably isn't your landlord's responsibility. I lived in an older apartment for a while and when I moved into a new unit, I found the prongs on my dryer plug didn't match the outlet. It was our responsibilty to remedy this, which we did by buying a new cord with the correct prongs and rewiring it ourselves. It's easy to do, just ask your friends if any of them are a bit handy with simple wiring.

I understand that but, if the building by the landlord???s mouth is only 5 years old then they aren't following any codes. By a friend of an electrical company said in 1996 it was mandated to have the 4 prong connector. It does not! I had to go and buy a 3 prong connector to have my drier working. Unless they are lieing to us and they are older that 1996.

for warn they are older then 1996 they were originally built around the earlier 1990's. one the GIRLS that work the front desk told my fiance so while she flirts like a oops i can't say it...
