A Poor Investment For Cash-Strapped Students

Selecting Woodbridge Apartments as a place to stay for two years is a poor choice for a college student. One can find newer and less-expensive alternatives that provide more flexibility and options if they simply look around.

First, the good things. They try to cater to graduate students with quiet residents, discounts on rent, and lots of parking spaces. In addition, the complex is on the 6 bus route.

Next, the negative things. The management is about as dreadful as they come. I've never dealt with less courteous staffers. Ever. The primary area manager, an elderly female, is ridiculously unpersonable. The other staffers, save one, are completely and utterly inept and treat residents like moneybags and nothing more.

The maintenance staff is only available until 5 p.m. every weekday. If your apartment floods or you have other more pressing issues, you are probably screwed until morning. The maintenance personnel is also overworked during the day because Gene B. Glick won't pay for more workers. Scheduling repairs is a huge hassle, the maintenance men they do hire are sleazy untrustworthy weirdos I wouldn't allow to play with my dog, let alone enter my apartment without my knowing and make repairs.

A great example of the inept maintenance is when I had a shower pipe burst and flood the downstairs apartment. I was told to cease usage of my shower until they could come in and repair the pipe, but it would have to be an all-day deal. I refused to let the workers in my apartment without me around. We scheduled time every day for two weeks for the work to be completed but they never came. Every day I would call back and reschedule. AS A RESULT OF THEIR MISDEEDS I was forced to miss two weeks of a specific class and thusly failed.

The company does not allow you a lease-breaking clause, which is basically a city-wide conspiracy. They are by no means required to insert one, but it would be a great benefit for students to have one in order to prevent the waste of money.

There are many other problems with the complex that would take far too much time to list. The important thing to remember, though, is that all of these hassles can be avoided if you do your research and spend time looking for a good place to stay for a good price. Clearly Woodbridge is not a viable option, and I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere. It is NOT worth the trouble.
