This place gets worse and worse the longer we are here. They keep saying they are trying to make this place better, but all they do is inconvenience the residents at every step of the way. Trust me, you don't want to live here.

Not only will they continue to inconvenience you while you live there - they will continue to inconvenience you even when you don't anymore! Our lease was up 5/31/08, and despite asking ------ - upon making our final rent payment for May - if there were ANY OTHER CHARGES we needed to take care of, to which she responded "no," we received a bill FROM A COLLECTIONS AGENCY for over $126 for water/serwer/trash, as well as "damages and cleaning." So, not only were we automatically turned into collections without notice, but additionally on an invoice that was in no way late, and that we in no way were responsible for. We're being told that it's "standard practice" to automatically turn former tenants over to collections, which I think is in violation of the Law, actually, and we're being told that we have to pay for damages that were already documented on the initial walk-through a year ago. This place is a f'ing mess and neither the office staff nor the parent company (Empirian) are at all helpful. They just want money, no matter how they get it. So, we concur... LOOK ELSEWHERE. They've been nothing but a huge pain in our ass since we signed with them. I can't even begin to detail the other problems we've had (although there are previous reviews from us, so check them out).

Anything that you have documented in a move-in report they can not legally charge you for and I would tell them to either correct this or go to your attorney or legal aide. Did you not do a move out inspection with them?
That is your responsibility to do so and to get a copy of that report, at least the documentation of what they documented as damages at that time.
As far as Cleaning charges unless it was above normal wear & tear or documented in your rental agreement that you pay for cleaning there again you needed to do your move out inspection to protect yourself.
This appears to be a very very costly "learning experience" for most of us.
