*Looks* good, but very poor construction. You hear neighbors much too easily here.

I've been renting a 3rd floor apartment for almost 2 years (top level) and know for certain the construction of these apartments isn't up to par with older apartments. The floor and wall constuction is inadequate; you hear normal talking and normal walking in adjacent rooms (in any adjacent room--regardless of floor). Stereo and home theatre systems are especially problematic here. It's amazing how fast Carmel Center can replace residents. There are no empty apartments here that I can find. Turnover is high. That should tell you something.

On the bright side, if your lucky enough to have neighbors that work full time while your here, it's a decent place to live. Generally, those who work are respectful, and generally those who don't are not. Suprised huh. If your thinking about it now, consider skipping this place, and move home for a few years. You can save up your money for a small house. Living in a noisy apartment can throw your life irreversibly in reverse. Neighbor problems can go on for several months, and most often it's only resolved for 1-2 months before it starts over again. If you've never experienced a lack of control over when you wake and sleep on a regular basis, your likely too here. Noise is never permanently under control here.

Another poster commented on the construction projects. They are correct, and it's not just near Carmel Center. There are no less than 4 constuction projects occuring withing 1 mile of this area, all simultaneously.

I feel your pain. I live on the ground floor and can't wait to leave. I think there is gymnastics going on above us. And management won't do anything to help. As long as they get their rent on time you are out of luck. There are other nice places in Carmel and Zionsville to live and the first thing I checkout now is constuction.
