STAY AWAY_ RENTER BEWARE!!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005

I have lived here awhile and everyone I talk to who lives here as well has nothing but bad experiences to share about the management. The apartments are advertised as "luxury" but are subpar for Carmel.

The new manager was promoted after two others whom I had no problems with are no longer working here. The new manager is who everyone has had problems with including myself for quite some time- when she was just a leasing agent and worse now.

She lies about everything- even routine things there is no reason to lie about!

You have to ask a question multiple times in a row, each time she will lie and then finally tell you the truth and deny deny deny what she told you over and over before.

I complained to the owners, the connor group, at their website- www.theconnorgrp.com and all they did was forward the complaint to who I was complaining about to take care of! I stumbled across the property owner's website by mistake looking for jobs- they do not freely give out their contact information any other way, which is odd.

In fact, many things are odd- they are the only community I've ever heard of that insists on 60 day move out notices, and they start calling you 4 months ahead of your move-out, will refuse to put any terms in writing and want to only tell you in a high pressure pitch what the terms will be at the office.

Very rude in general.

The final straw of lies that broke my back was after so long the (new manager) had told me, my wife, and my mother repeatedly that at any time I or my wife could get a job at any income and take my mother off the lease.

I fully explained our situation- that I am in school and will graduate in december and to be fair to my siblings my mother can simply not cosign beyond december, when I graduate and she stops helping us. I asked if we needed the cosigner, and to not have a cosigner what the job requirements would be. The now manager clearly told me over and over that all I would need before we re-sign would be a job, any job, and at any income- she specifically said the income had nothing to do with it since we had established rental history with them and income does not matter at all- simply need a job of any kind at any income, no debt ratios or anything considered and we can sign again, even upgrade!

No doubt I was very excited about that so did not give a 60 day notice because we were led to believe we could stay and not worry about qualifying. after the 60 day notice period had passed and we looked at a bigger apartment, i asked her 2 more times just to be sure (because it sounded way too good to be true) and she VERY CLEARLY said just a job, any income, etc. I asked her a 3rd time just to be sure and guess what she said'! "Oh, well of course you'd have to income-qualify." I asked her right there what she was talking about and she said she never said otherwise..... So we are super upset- totally lied to just to put the ball in their favor.

when i found that out and she seemed super ready to leave before i got upset, probably from the troubled, confused look in my eyes, i was mad of course. I ended up finding another apartment that was more understanding of the situation and put a deposit down and soon after signed a new lease elsewhere. I left a notice, which by then was "only" about 45 days before the end of our lease along with the reasons why- that every experience we have with her, we get repeatedly lied to over and over then she finally tells the truth and so on. I got a note on my door saying "urgent" after that like every note they leave literally says no matter what the issue, as well as a couple followup calls- twice in 1 day, which i answred later. The lady was really nasty on the phone and denied all her lies on one hand, but on the other hand also was saying none of the other times have bearing on this situation... totally contradicting herself and making herself sound like a liar if you didn't know it!

She insisted we would be billed through our lease (4 days after the lease actually) PLUS another 30 days PLUS $150. Complete crap.

I could go on and on about our other experiences with her but i could go on for hours. oh- we did look at a townhouse in "move-in condition" that was supposedly rented- I have a bad sense of smell and even I could smell the animal odors, see the urine looking stains on the carpet, and the upstairs floors creaked extremely loudly (i'm talking loud echoes!) like there was major water damage- certainly not age as these buildings are only like 10-15 years old! In fact they have let missing shingles, with tar paper exposed, stay like that for weeks. I made a note of that and she didnt respond to it at all- makes no sense!

oh, also, my wife is severely allergic to bees- literally a life or death situation and i let this woman know this- that the bees were right at our front door and there were tons in the siding. she said they sprayed already right at that location but would be right out to redo it. a few days or a week went by and no one had done anything- I asked her again, and she said they did do it again but they would redo it again, this happened one more time I believe and finally when I went to her again, she said something almost exactly to these words: "Bees' oh, we can't spray for bees there, we havent sprayed at all, I dont know what you are talking about" SAME WOMAN I WAS dealing with whole time! in fact, my friend asked the maintence man how the bee extermination was going and the guy said "what bees'" just stupid things over and over she has no reason lyuing about. multiple people ahve called 5-10 times reporting gas leaks and the residents have to track down the maintence men to get it done- this same woman at the office never gets them the message (there is no maintence line, you have to call the office...) I asked a maintainance (sp') man the other day and just found out this woman is the new boss, the one Ive had so many issues with, and guess what he said'!'! that yes, the woman lies over and over again and they never get messages from her about resident complaints for things to fix!
