I'll be glad when this lease is up

Apartments look decent on the inside, depending on which one you take but you'd never know that from the outside. Plus they are very cheaply made, paper thin walls with no insulation. If you move here, better invest in some plastic tarps to put up to your windows or your gas bill will be astronimical. Also watch out for very very high water bills. Possibly because the toilets here are crap and just run all the time. However the company they use charges higher 'administrative' fees than your actual water/sewer usage. Anyway, they need to do a face lift on this place big time but if that means my rent is going up another 6%, I'd rather just move. I moved here after desperation and the need to be closer to my job. This experience has taught me to start looking for a new apartment MONTHS in advance. Their deposit is rediculous ($250) and non refundable no matter what and I have excellent credit and renting history. Took them almost a week to approve me. The management is beyond rude and annoying. Plus, I don't care what time of day you call, you will never speak to a live person. I always get the answering machine. Its rediculous. I have already made one phone call followed by a letter to the head office in Ohio. Maintenance is pathetic. The price was decent for this area the first year of the lease, but the renewal rate is where they get you. You would think that since you are away from the city and carmel police love harassing people, that they would actually patrol through here and it would be safe. Not. I've seen a cop parked in here 3 times in the year I've lived here. My car however has been broken into 2 times. During the summer its even worse. At this point, I'm really just trying to move to a house because I am sick of this crap with apartments in Indianapolis and the surrounding. Either they are way over priced or just plain crap or worse...BOTH.
Also I want to back up what another reviewer commented about living here, they will not give you any renewal information over the phone. Since it I work a lot, it was almost impossible for me to get into the office to find out what the new rate would have been, I got in there 59 days before my lease would have been up. You have to give a 60 day notice. NO EXCEPTIONS. Keep on driving past this place. I asked the office manager about the reviews I had read on here basically condeming this place and she said that was because of the old office managers. Well in my opinion, she has a LOT of work to do.
