My Experience

I lived at this place for a year. The apartment was fair and in a good location, but the condition of the place is poor. You can hear your neighbors all too well and even your roomate with normal levels of noise. I had problems sleeping when I couldn't fall asleep and would wake up to the (what sounded like) mexican soap opera being played in the room below us. I also felt really uncomfortable with my neighbors. The hallway between the tenates was poorly lit, never cleaned, and everyone had to fight over who got to use the laundry machines, which cost too much and are too few of -- 1 washer and 1 dryer for 8 * 2 bedroom tenates. The laundry area was never cleaned and people always left their clothing in the machines long after they were done. It costs 50$ to get your room opened if you lock yourself out, but luckily it is easy enough to shimmy a credit card in the lock and get in. Our air conditioner / heater unit was placed right outside our rooms and was loud and when promted for the management to repair, said it was fine. The lights had dead bugs in them. The bathroom grew mold and would never get clean. The owners rather than actually fixing the place just painted over anything on the walls when a tenate moves out and thus the walls cheap looking and all the cabinets and lights have paint splatter. The pool is small. I never felt safe in the neighborhood and all my friends refered to the place as the ghetto of Carmel as teenagers were always out in the streets. Management made it hard to pay for rent and nothing seems to be included. I would like to say that we got a fair portion of the security deposit back. Management is not well kept, prices change depending on who you talk to and the people who run the office who can barely speak english don't know how to do half the things you need them to, like run your credit card for rent. The place is not pretty, but if you are low on money, will suit.
