Complete waste of money

To the last two posters, including MohawkMgr,
I would like to invite you to come and move into the apartment that I will soon be vacating (after a number of years living here).
You would then get to enjoy the wall shaking thunder of my new "negihbors" car stereo, as he drives in and out of here every five minutes. You would be treated to squealing tires and the fun game of car dodging that the children in my area play each day.
You would get to hear people scream "---- you" to each other on average about twice a week at 1 to 3 in the morning.
You would enjoy the ripped tile in the kitchen (ripped by maintenance by the way) that maintenance promised to "be back to fix" in a couple of days.
Yes, you too can enjoy the musty smell of 30 year old carpet in the common areas that has apparantly never been cleaned except for a monthly vacuuming.
Or how about the quarter inch gap below the master bedroom window that provides such a wonderful icy breeze in the balmy Indiana winters.
The air conditioning unit that must run continously all day to maintain about 75 degrees on a moderate summer day. (no this is not an exaggeration)
The lack of heating and cooling in the bedrooms of the apartment.
The deck that is rotting and beginning to tilt as though it will fall off any day.
The dog ---- everywhere.
The indoor pool and hot tub that are the most disgusting thing that I have ever seen. I would rather dive into a completely scum covered pond than dip a toe into either of those.
The vandalized outdoor pool that was closed for a week.
The smashed car windows from golf balls that "no one can do anything about".
The embarassment of inviting parents and friends over to see what a piece of trash you live in.
And please dont kid yourselves, maintenance does try, but everything is half-assed.
There is an abandoned car in front of my building that has a flat tire and no plates but has been there for at least 2 years without moving. It has become a game for me to see how long abandoned cars can sit without being towed.
The saddest thing is that this was once a nice place to live in Carmel. And now it is basically the ghetto of Carmel.
Quite honestly, I am embarassed to tell anyone that I live here.
On a positive note, the golf course is good and Phil in the clubhouse is a nice guy.
This apartment community was just sold to a company with other apartment communities around the country so hopefully it will become better --- or tear the whole damn thing down --- either way I am getting the hell out of here shortly and I sure wont remember this place fondly.
If you are looking in this area check out the AMLI properties www.amli.com for some decent apartments.
Cant wait to leave...
