I have lived at the Village on Springmill for two years. The first lease we signed we were told as long as we always renewed our lease 3 months before it was up we would never have an increase in rent. The 2nd lease we signe dour base rent jumped from 790 to 820! When I called to confront the so-called "staff" the leasing person told me that was never told to us that our rent would stay the same, the next person i talked to told me they sent us a letter telling us if we didnt resign it would jump up, and then when we in fact resigned our lease 4 months before it was up they increased it anyway. The staff turnover there is so ridiculous! No one ever writes down what they say they will, very poor communication. Lost a TON of my packages that they SIGNED FOR! And took no responsibility for losing them when I had the signatures from Fed Ex. On top of how awful the office staff is. We paid a $300 pet deposit thats non refundable and $25 a month for our dog. plus 2 seperate deposits, a "redecorating fee" that we dont get back of $200 and then a regular deposit that I am sure they will do their best to keep that too. The maintenance staff has come 3 times to fix a leak under my sink that got so bad it ate through to our neighbors bathroom! The fixtures arent very nice, the washer and dryer are awful. Youre responsible for the huge lightbulbs in the bathrooms and in the kitchen. You can hear absolutely everything from people driving, hanging out on their balconies, walking up and down the huge cement and metal stairs, people talking, walking and anything else. The grounds were nicely kept. There is NEVER any parking. I often had to park a building or 2 away just to get a spot. If you dont get there around 3 in the afternoon you're screwed. On top of the HUGE price tag for rent you also pay trash, water, gas, electric and sewage. All in all I pay over $1300 a month to live in a 2 bedroom apartment thats 1000 sf. My 2nd lease is up at the end of this month and I couldnt be happier that I am moving.
