My wife and I had the misfortune of moving into Woodland Springs Manor. I recommend that if you're looking for an apartment or townhome in the Carmel area that you keep on looking.

My experience shows that Woodland Springs Manor's management is completely unresponsive to the problems of residents. In the winter, cold weather froze the pipes in my townhome. While I understand this happens in older (deterioriating, uninsulated) buildings and in colder weather, I didn't expect management's attitude of complete unresponsiveness to the problems caused by their plumbing. Not only did they refuse to clean up the mess the frozen pipes caused, they refused to fix the pipes or offer other accomodations such as reducing the rent or directing me and my family to a place where we could wash our clothes. They told us a heater or heat tape could keep some of the pipes from freezing but refused to purchase that.

Other residents had furnaces break. They were not fixed for three DAYS.

I've since moved out of the property. Moving out for me was one of the happiest days of my life. Look elsewhere and avoid these fools.

I know this is an old opinion, but I wanted everyone who would read this to know that frozen pipes are the renters problem. My business is plumbing and HVAC, the easiest way to not have frozen pipes (or having them burst) is to keep a constant slow drip with warm water when the weather is below freezing temperatures. If you do not know these things, I hope you pay attention to those facts. Frozen pipes do NOT just happen in older homes, or as this renter said "older (deteriorating, uninsulated) buildings" it can happen in any home or rental building. Because we work on new construction residential homes, we get numerous calls about frozen and busted pipes. In all of the new homes, it is given as a warning that you are to run water in the cold months to keep everything from freezing. It also is not covered by any warranty unless the pipe is shown on the outside of the home or rental area without any insulation around it. So in other words, it is a VERY common occurance to have frozen pipes. And as for broken furnaces, well, lets just say that most maintenance men or women cannot install or fix a furnace unless they know what they are doing or have done it before. I know that opening up a furnace, I wouldn't be able to tell you what was broken. If they couldn't get someone out for 3 days time, it was likely that the heating and cooling company couldn't get out any quicker. Chances are that it was during cold months and several furnaces had gone out. Sometimes you can't get someone in immediately. Yes, the apartment complex should've given them a place to stay for those days, same as for the pipes bursting and flooding everything. But not all of it is their fault, everyone needs to realize that it isn't just the fault of the apartment complex. Things happen...we get over it. It isn't like we've never lived in the blistering cold before, look at your ancestors and how they lived!

First of all, wondering if the residents are paying for water and if they are the slow drip is a terrible suggestion.

when temps drop well below frezzing everybody should know to leave a small stream of water running as of the exspence of the water it would cost less then 25 cents a day not to have frozzen pipes if these people ever purchase a home they will find out after 1 call to a plumber ,water extracter , insurance company that the comment about a terrible suggestion is a very stupid statement
