Good Riddance

We are breaking our lease here at Courtyard Square apartments. The neighbors are loud and rude. People play music (with bass) at all hours of the night. Cars race through the parking lots. The management has their hands full, and while I think they could do better, it is the low-income situation that makes this a bad fit for me. Very few people follow the rules. If you are looking for a quiet, charming place to live, don't live here. As for getting out of the lease, we have decided after much deliberation to break our lease. They are charging us 60 days rent plus $1000 to break the lease.
For the record, we have not been asked to leave, no one has complained about us, and we are very good residents. The $1000 is standard in any Capreit management lease. I wanted to give a scathing review of this place, but I honestly feel now that this is just not a good match for people who care about a relaxing environment. If you enjoy parties, don't care about noise, and don't mind seeing people break rules constantly, you might enjoy this place more than I have.
Maintenance was okay. I have been told by the local pizza companies that they will not deliver here after 6 p.m., due to "incidents" in the parking lots. I will not walk here alone at night. The lights do not work properly in most areas. The laundry room is clean enough, but the dryers rarely got our clothes dry, so we use an off-site laundry facility.
Good riddance, Courtyard Square.
