Worst Place possible to Live

Prior to moving into my apartment, I was told by management that the neighbors above my new apartment were an elderly couple and were very quiet and considerate, this was a lie or management did not know who lived in the apartment above me. There were two or three families living in the apartment above me and they were the worst possible neighbors. There was a constant slamming of doors, drunks hanging out on the stairs and the all weekend party and beer drinking in the parking lot. For added entertainment we have the beer drinkers leaving empty bottles sitting all over the parking lot or throwing their empty bottles against the building and laughing about it. The best part is that these people don't even live here. When I went to the management about the situation I got the standard answer which is "we'll get right on it" which means as soon as you hang up the phone they forget all about the conversation. My air conditioning unit was not working when I prepared to move in and was supposed to have been fixed prior to moving in. The air conditioning was not fixed until 2 weeks after moving in (supposedly). On the day I moved in, I found that bags of ice had been placed on the unit in hopes that the ice would make the unit cool the air. Is this competent maintenance' The unit was finally replaced at the end of September 2005 and has not worked correctly since. I have had to call the Health Department to get action on one maintenance issue and have had water from the upstairs apartment running down my walls and out of the breaker box. I have lost several hundred dollars worth of property due to water damage from water leaks in the apartment upstairs and the malfunctioning air conditioning, all of which I reported numerous times to management and the only response I got is "we'll get right on it", which again means that they will forget about the conversation as soon as they hang up the phone. I was once asked by maintenance if I thought someone could be injured by the water coming from inside the breaker box in my apartment. I hope that people will read this and look at another complex when looking for an apartment. I personally feel that I made a huge mistake moving here and hope other people will read this and avoid this complex. This place is a very unsafe neighborhood due to drunks hanging out in the parking lot, cars speeding in the parking lot, debris being thrown in the pool, and the management and maintenance personnel are deceitful and incompetent. Please inform others to avoid this facility!!!

This is very true. NOt only that people look in the windows. So you have to keep your blinds shut all the time. Live it in the dark. My daughter asked three times if the neighbor hood was decent she was told yes by the management. They bodly lied to her. It is a horrible place to exist much less try to live and raise decent kids. Can't be done. Police come every day at least twice a day or more. Drug busts, etc. It's the slum of all slums. |
