Poor sound insulation

I have been a Westwood Pines for a while now and I am looking forward to moving out shortly. I can hear every footstep from the apartment above me. There must be little or no sound insulation or isolation in my ceiling. The doors are spring loaded such that anytime somebody enters a nearby unit, you hear it slam (it would be nice if people had enough courtesy to close their door in a controlled manner, rather than just letting it go). The noise level from above is something that cannot be controlled, because you obviously can't ask somebody not to walk across their apartment floor. The lack of isolation of the nearby units is something that cannot be overlooked and makes it sometimes difficult to sleep. If you move here, make sure you can get a unit on the top floor!!!
