The week after my husband and I moved in we started noticing a horrible urine smell in the kitchen . . .which actually turned out to be the refrigerator *ugh* Apparently someone had spilled stuff and it had dripped down inside all over the coils, thus whenever the refrigerator ran it emitted this rank smell! So of course we filed a maintenance request. 2 MONTHS later we were still having to mask the smell with air freshner. Oh, they always sent maintenance men over to "look at it", but nothing was ever done about it. They kept leaving notes saying "checked fridge, could not locate odor"
It wasn't until my husband called and threatened to drag the fridge down to the office and leave it on their front doorstep that they FINALLY replaced it!
Thankfully, there is a new manager now and several new maintenance staff members. . .and we've seen a marked improvement. We MIGHT even consider renewing our lease for another year.
