We signed a three month lease over the summer. We were building a house and needed temporary housing. We paid the short lease premium and gave notice that we were moving, but management changed and although we were told everything was fine when we left we received a $900 bill for a month that was not in our lease agreement. The new management has been rude and hung up on me the last time I tried talking to them. I heard several complaints from long term residents when I lived there, but I guess I had to live it to belive it.

You have to give a 60 day notice! So now your mad because they charged you for the 60 days. It all in the lease. I had to sign the same stuff and I moved out ok with no charges. It stinks to lose $900, but hey it's business and you would do the same thing in their position.

Same thing happened to me in January 2007 and I did give a notice but it still happened. This is a scam.. has to be because I have years of good apartment history until settlers run of danville. But with me, they are charging me TWO months. She also hung up on me too, but not before telling me to call the collection agency because they have the details of the charges. I called the collection agency and they had no details of what it was for and actually have to ask them for the details. So buyer beware. Telling them on the phone that you are going to move when the lease is up - and when they say "okay, thats fine blah blah blah" it is not really okay. they will charge you months of rent after you move, wreck your credit, tell you a lie of "call the collection agency because they know why its charged, we dont" and then hang up on you. |

I currently live there, and I am extremly unhappy. Current managment has terrible outlook. We are looking for a home currently, thanks for the warning (60 notice).

I DID give a WRITTEN 60-day notice and after moving out received bills from a collection agency that apparently works for the company that now owns settlers. It was a NIGHTMARE dealing with them, the office personnel especially..and of course the collections. Trying to get anything done was like pulling teeth. The 15 months I lived there, the owners changed, the entire office personnel AND there was a new maintenance man entering my apt. EVERY time I turned around and NOTHING was documented in my file when I left. Settlers really went DOWNHILL when they changed property manager/assistant/office personell and ownership in 2007. When I moved in there in 2006 the owners and property manager/assistant were great and very respectful. Not only that, but there are A LOT of drugs/drug dealers within the complex now as well.
