As a teacher at the local university, I really needed an apartment that was quiet. Nothing can ruin my grading nights (or weekends) like an apartment complex with a partier downstairs! (Or down the block.) The great news about the Brickyard is that it is quiet!! Not only are the apartments well insulated, the price tends to keep the complex full of young professionals rather than rabble rousers. This means your car is safe, you can walk your dog without being bothered (yes, they're one of the only reputable complexes in town that take small or mid-size dogs), and you can take a nap during the day if you need to.

I will say that this complex is not cheap. They do NOT rent to students (see my comments about quiet above). So you may pay an extra $10 a month for your pet, and another $20 a month for a carport--but they don't nickle and dime you to death like some complexes do.

Management is the best! Kristi Pfeiffer responds quickly to any emergency--and is very sensitive to tenants' needs. The maintenance man on staff, Dennis, is wonderful and always on hand. After having slum-like landlords that left me to my own devices for years, it's a pleasure to have real management that takes care of my apartment! Kristi will also take packages if tenants aren't around.

I really recommend this place. It's true that I could rent a lowbrow house for this price--but it would be falling down around my ears... and consider what neighbors I'd have! This is the best deal in town for professional folks or retiring people. Really well kept.
