This place is so horrible

This is my first review, and I tried to make it as detailed as possible and listed the reasons WHY I don't like it. I hate it when people only leave comments like, "Don't move here. This place sucks!" then don't list the reasons why they hate it. Enjoy.
Our roomates and I moved here in the summer of 07. We were really excited to move into such a nice place. "So many nice amenities!" we thought. It only took us a few months to realize the horrible truth.
The Parking- It was to my understanding we were only allowed 2 cars per apartment, but there are several other people who live here that have three or more and decide
to park all of their cars in the closest spots for weeks at a time. People like me who work nights have to walk half the property to get to the door.
The Noise- It was OK for about half the year til we got a new neighbor upstairs that had kids. At all hours of the day and sometimes the night there sounds like stampeding animals. There was one time the power went out at 7 in the morning and they were ALLOWING their children to scream at the top of there lungs and jump up and down in the hallway. After about 10 min, I had to go out in the hall and ask them to be quiet. I asked the management to fix the problem, and they said they couldn't do anything during 7am-9pm, no matter how loud. Useless.
Grounds-They keep the landscaping up are generally OK.
Safety- THEY NEVER REPLACE THE BURNED LIGHTBULBS!!!! Our front and back door lights have been out for months. For all I know I could get raped by a predator or trip on the curb because there is no light. Also someone knocked over the street lamp and it is currently still laying, wires hanging out, by the front door. The least they could move it and cover the wires. LAZY.
Construction- Not extremely horrible. Our patio door has never locked properly since we moved in. The layout is nice. For some reasons the master room gets all the heat and air and the second room never does.Half of the fitness equipment is broken and the tanning bed has a huge crack down the middle. It's been like this since we moved here.
Maintenance- Crappy. When we first moved in they came when we called, but whatever they fixed always broke a few days later. I have never seen the bug man even on days when I was home all day and he was suppose to be there. And the ants, O God the ANTS!!! All over the second bedroom and in the kitchen and we never leave food out and clean up, so it's not our fault. The woman maintenance person does way, way more than the male one.
Staff- Lying, Two-faced, and all around worthless. On our first consultation, they wrote down all of the prices and policies of pets, $150 for small dogs and cats one time fee for two pets. Somehow magically AFTER we signed the lease, we owed an extra $200 dollars PER pet(as much as a large dog for just a pug and a cat). I got packages sent to the office and they sat there for months because they didn't let me know that they arrived. They acted to embarrassed about the ant situation, and all they did was put traps out, and guess what...the ants are still here. I could have gone to Wal-mart across the street and have gotten crappy ant killer traps myself for five dollars.
Overall- I have lived in one of the cheapest and most moderately priced apartments in Evansville and Brooklyn Place is the most overpriced disappointment of them all. Way too much money spent for such poor service and quality. The only positive things about this place is the location, washer and dryer, and that is all. This place is just a polished turd.

My thoughts exactly. I unfortunately am stuck still living here for another 6 months. I honestly just can't believe how horrible the staff is, especially that Brenda woman. She has been horribly rude to me, my roommate, as well as other individuals I know who live or have lived here. They are completely unorganized in the office. "Misplace" things all the time. Completely two-faced. Awful. In my opinion, the staff management is the most important part of an apartment community, and the people here do not have a reputation that I would consider acceptable. Stay away from Brooklyn Place.
