Charter Oaks, now known as Ashton Farms, is fine for what you pay. The nicer apartment complexes in town are at least 100 dollars more a month. Shawn in the office is very nice. I've only had a few maintenance calls in the two years I've lived here. The response time was reasonable. However, I was very uncomfortable and upset when my AC went out in the summer, on a weekend, and it didn't get fixed until Monday because it's not considered an emergency

The parking lot isn't lit, but I don't know of any crime problems. The complex is in a nice area.

The office does seem to be closed more often than not. And the laundry hours have been cut back which is inconvienent. But in all, for an older complex, it's acceptable.
