I have lived in Hornbrook for over a year and am currently looking for another place.During my first month here, my neighbor was arrested in relation to a stabbing and now there was a drug bust last night in the apartment directly above us. A guy jumped out of a 2nd story window, landed outside my open window, and ran from the cops! I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT MY APARTMENT WAS FORMERLY A METH LAB(a little over 2 years ago)!!!! I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS AND IT WAS NOT PROPERLY CLEANED AFTERWARDS! THEY KNEW THIS AND LET ME MOVE IN WITH MY 5 MONTH OLD SON!

The place was disgusting when I moved in. There was hot pink writing on the carpet in three rooms but management said it was "still considered rentable" and the toilet didn't work. The air conditioners had black mold all over them (picture below) and management lied about having them cleaned. The speed bumps do tear up your car and are really annoying. Maintainence people are wonderful and hot water never runs out but the apartments are cheaply built and won't last long. Not to mention the temperature in the apartment is very hard to control! Ever since moving here, it seems like it's been one thing after another and I'm anxious to leave. If you don't mind criminals, drugs,speed bumps,and filth, then you will be fine. Everyone can make their own decision but MAKE SURE you see the apartment before you sign anything; and take pictures of everything when you move in or they will probably try to charge you for damage that was there when you moved in!

2/3/08 Just an update, I had a friend who moved out of Hornbrook since I left and they tried to charge her for carpet replacement even when she had argued with them because it was so disgusting when she moved in! She had marked it on her move in checklist, which management had conveniently lost. Funny, the same thing happened to me except I had my carbon copy of it as proof when I moved out(thank goodness)!

Another note, I mentioned this website to management when I left and she tried to tell me that the only people who leave bad reviews on here are the ones who didn't pay rent or were "troublemakers." I found this very unprofessional and definitely not true. Oh, and the rent will go up at least 10$ every year no matter what. Every time I renewed my lease they raised it on me. There are many other places with lots of amenities that are cheaper than Hornbrook (Regency Club is nice) and definitely classier.
