Avoid unless you are 18 year old college student.

We moved into The Timbers approximately one year ago. We figured as it was our first place it would serve our needs well. Unfortunately after only a month the proverbial bloom came off the rose. As i said in the title unless you are unemployed or in college avoid this complex. We found out that there is a rather generous subsidy given to college kids as as such there is a party seemingly every night. While this would be endearing to some, as young professionals we found the noise to be overwhelming at times.
The apartments needed renovation fifteen years ago, and are in desperate condition now. The kitchen looks untouched since the complex' opening in the late 1970's, where we found an oven with one temperature setting, a refrigerator that filled half full with frost, and cabinetry that was made from the finest particle board money could buy. The biggest headache, one which another former tenant has pointed out on this site, is the horrible cable service. The Timbers in another attempt to extort money from their tenants has gives you one option for cable television, their own system. It is a cobbled together system based of Dish Network that from our experience works only part of the time, be warned.
The staff does seem to want to help but seems constrained by the corporation that owns the property not to be able to do much. We lived there for a year and were glad to move on to a better complex, Look through all the comments, reading back to postings from 2001 I can see that little has changed at The Timbers. I guess in time we will look back with some laughter at our 'first place', someday.

This area was a cornfield in the late 70s and early 80s. These apartments aren't that old.
I'm not disputing anything else about them, though. I've heard so many horror stories. Many Edward Rose locations have only one cable provider and this was the only bad thing about their Northport Apartments in Macomb, MI and is the only reason I didn't move into the Timbers 10 years ago... but now I'm glad I never did... everyone seems to agree that this is a horrible place, unless you are a partying college loser.
